Vaughan Roofing & Sheet Metal, LLC Earns National Safety Award

Vaughan Roofing and Sheet Metal, LLC was one of four Construction Special Trades category recipients in the nation to earn the Business Roundtable (BRT) Annual Construction Industry Safety Excellence (CISE) Award.  The CISE program seeks to encourage construction safety efforts by recognizing safety leaders within the industry.

Vaughan Roofing & Sheet Metal, LLC. also received commendations for outstanding work in the are of safety and health from The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association, Inc. (SMACNA).

Several safety program and accident prevention policies are in place at Vaughan.

• Safety and Health Manual is thorough and well-used. The book does not simply "sit on the shelf".
• A Pre-Job Safety Checklist has been incorporated at Vaughan to help insure every detail is reviewed.
• Tool Box Safety Meetings are held every Monday morning to review precautions and new issues.
• Monthly Company-Wide Safety Meetings address inspections, safety behavior, near miss and accidents.
• Disciplinary Action is taken for unsafe work practices.
• Safety Work Permit Systems are in place for hazardous areas and confined spaces.
• Accident Reports are submitted within 24 hours of an incident.  Any incident, no matter how small, is reported  to the safety department using Vaughan's accident reports.
• Vaughan Roofing & Sheet Metal coodinated an organized Back-to-Work Program.
